Building connections with Abu Dhabi's heritage
Ethara delivered the 2026 edition of Al Hosn Festival for the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi, with a 16-day celebration of the Emirate’s heritage.
Al Hosn Festival is a living expression of Abu Dhabi’s culture. It is held at Qasr Al Hosn, one of the oldest standing structures and served as the home of the ruling family. Diverse communities come together to build connections with the past and take part in Abu Dhabi’s ever-evolving story.
The festival’s 2026 edition delivered by Ethara introduced new activities and programmes, leaving a strong impact on the creative culture industry with 1,311 local practitioners involved. New programming experiences included, amongst others, the Heritage Escape Room, Main Show: Root of the Nation, Poetry Nights, Artisans Workshops, and Traditional Emirati Games.
Al Hosn Festival 2026 engaged 40 partners, including House of Artisans, Cultural Foundation, Marsam Al Hor, Bait Al Khat, Louvre Abu Dhabi, Guggenheim Abu Dhabi, Zayed National Museum, Natural History Museum, and many more. The festival welcomed audiences back to the city’s origin point, the site’s legacy was honoured as a gathering place for culture, heritage, crafts and community.
